Born and raised in South Wales, I studied for a degree at Edinburgh University and continued north for a job in the oil industry. After six years I made a significant change and left BP to study Acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. Attaining my Diploma with distinction in 1997, I began my new career very slowly, as it coincided with the birth of my daughter. As she grew, so did my practice. Having previously worked in Aberdeen and other parts of Aberdeenshire, I am now based solely in Banchory.

Since 2007 I have been studying Qi Gong, a traditional Chinese exercise system. I practice for my own health benefits and to enhance my ability to carry out acupuncture. To find out about Qi Gong visit Ruyi School

Outside acupuncture, exploring Scotland's landscape by foot and bike is the source of much happiness and most holidays.
